Blyth Gig! Excellent

by bluesman6149 on Aug.23, 2010, under Bits of useless info :-)

We played the blyth gig on 22nd august, and im sure i can speak for the rest of the band as well. But what an awsome gig!

We played our usual set right through, with a couple of extensions here and there and a bit of improvisation between myself and the rest of the group.

The pub was packed for most of the night, and they loved it. Could believe that so many of them knew John Mayalls ‘california’ i was pleasantyl surprised!

Our next stop is Coxhoe on the 2nd september, at Coxhoe Club. Hope fully have some more photos on soon to upload. Until then, a big thankyou to the staff and customers from ‘the flying horse’ in Blyth. Hopefully see you all again very soon!

Things moving along quite nicely!

by bluesman6149 on Jul.13, 2010, under Bits of useless info :-)

Howdy folks, well over the recent weekend, we played at the British Legion club in middlesbrough, and even more recently we hosted a jam night through at guisborough.

Was a really good night, with some excellent acts that got up and played half way through after our first set of songs.

Another gig coming up soon in the next couple of weeks is through at eaglescliffe, at a venue called The Eaglescliffe, where we will be playing our full set, around 2 hours woth of music.

Im really pleased by the sound that the band is starting to create, moulding together very well indeed. Plus getting excellent feedback from our audiences.

We have been approached by the flying horse in blyth to do a gig up there on the 22nd of august.

We are also booked in for September the 2nd at coxhoe club, the final night of a trial run of band nights. Lets hope the nights go down well, and promote more live music in the area. As well as helping the club!!

Bad times for Black Dog Blues

by bluesman6149 on Jan.14, 2010, under Bits of useless info :-)

Well, weve had a sudden turn of events of late, and sadly our drummer(john)had to make the  unfortunate decision to leave the band. Its all a bit of a shock to us, but we understand john’s reasons and i can fully appreciate them after talking to him the other day.

So were now having to go on the look out for a new adition to the band. However in the meantime, since we arent that busy at the moment, its an idea opportunity to work on more original music, and look at some more possible covers for our blues 3 piece.

Its non stop rock n  roll! Anyways, be back soon to fill you in on the latest news asap!

And so the snow continues!

by bluesman6149 on Jan.10, 2010, under Bits of useless info :-)

Welcome to a new post on the site. Hope you all had a good time over the festive period and a drunken rock n roll new year!

The black dog blues band is currently being persistently held up by the current weather conditions, and unable to get together and plan for the next steps for the band. However i do feel that this year has to be the one to get us noticed! Or so i would hope!

Our drummer i sadly snowed in under very bad conditions in the more northerly part of our county, whereas the rest of the band are still struggling as well. All we can do is practise and hope that when we get back together we wont have lost that black dog magic! :-P

Thats my first post of the new year anyways, hope there will be many more to come!

Bye for now! :-)

Let the Good Times Roll!

by bluesman6149 on Dec.09, 2009, under Bits of useless info :-)

Well, we have been very busy all of us with work, as its that time of the year again. So not much time for gettin together and having a good old jam. Also whats else is quite saddening is the amount of pubs and bars in the area that are closing, or just stopping live music?! Whats that all about?!!

So anyways, just thought i would write a few words to wish every one a safe and happy christmas, and a fab new year. We will be back to it by then, with more original songs in the pipeline too. Hopefully, next year will have more in store for us, and a bit more recognition for the blues is greatly needed! I hope this message goes to several venues in the area that ‘ dont like the blues’

Never mind, keep popping on and leave your comments. Until next time, in the words or Ray Charles and BB king… Let the Good times Roll! :-)
